General Job Function:

 

The Individual Giving Coordinator is responsible for the management and growth of the annual fund including: direct mail, email solicitations, and the creation of new giving programs. Additionally, this person is responsible for providing donor management support related to research, systems, reporting and analysis. As part of the Individual Giving team, the Coordinator also supports the fulfilment of event revenue goals.

 

 

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and grow the individual giving donor base including the annual fund, Leadership Circle and other IG programs. (60%),

    • Implement fiscal year strategy with the Director of Individual Giving, including solicitation letters, list management, mailings, and printer negotiations/management for fiscal year-end and calendar year-end giving campaigns

    • Collaborate on the creation of direct mail pieces and donor collateral  

    • Manage and integrate email campaigns and solicitations on an ongoing basis, including research and implementation of mobile giving options

    • Strategize, implement, and promote new giving opportunities and programs (i.e. honor/memorial, grandparents, etc.), contributing to both their creation and implementation

    • Strategize member to donor conversion and donor pipeline sustenance  

    • Track fundraising progress for the Board of Directors, Auxiliary Board, and Metropolitan Board; creating and compiling report cards on a quarterly or as needed basis

    • Mange individual giving data in Raisers Edge: pull, compile, and manage lists and donor data; conduct analysis and ROI; stewarding database usage for best business practices

  • Responsible for Raisers Edge entry and acknowledgement letters (15%)
    • Enter all gifts in Raisers Edge
    • Generate and track acknowledgement letters for contributions
    • Generate pledge reminders
    • Help with entry of actions, notes and constituent information
    • Assist with other reports/lists as needed from Raisers Edge
    • File acknowledgments and gift documentation
  • Spearhead communications: personalize individual donor acknowledgements; donor impact newsletters; donor thank you calls; explore additional cross-departmental opportunities (5%)

  • Conduct prospect research for both the campaign and annual giving prospects (5%)

  • Support the Individual Giving teams events, assisting in their execution during event season and working collaboratively with the Fundraising Coordinator on cultivation and stewardship events as needed (10%)

  • As appropriate, participate in institution-wide teams. (5%)

 

Experience and Skills:

Education: College degree in applicable field

 

Job Experience: 1-2 years of previous fundraising/annual fund or communications experience required.

 

 

Demonstrated Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

  • Ability to create, edit and write compelling communication pieces

  • Thorough working knowledge of Excel

  • Raisers Edge experience, including queries and reports and data analysis

  • Professional demeanor on phone and in person

  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple-tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work well with others.

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently

  • Resourcefulness and results oriented.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
