Job Description:

Position: Assistant Supervisor,Guest and Member Operations (Part-time)

Department: Guest and Member Operations

Reports to: Supervisor, Guest and Member Operations

Supervises: Guest and Member Operations Staff

 

General Description: The Guest and Member Operations Assistant Supervisor provides staffing of museum admissions and membership desk while promoting membership sales and delivering customer service. S/he strives to create a welcoming environment through positive staff-visitor interactions. The Assistant Supervisor covers opening and closing duties, staff lunch breaks and maintains continuity of exemplary service while the Supervisor are attending to training, departmental meetings and back office duties.

 

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities

 

* Provide staffing of museum admissions operations at but not limited to the following locations:

o Greeter

o Membership kiosks off-site

o Museum crowd control

o Admissions desks

* Adheres to all cash handling policies and controls set forth by Chicago Childrens Museum.

* Supports Floor Supervisor and assists Guest Service and Member Operations staff to resolve guest and member questions and issues.

* Actively overseas the floor and traffic flow to ensure smooth entry and exit process for guests and members.

* Provides back office and new employee training support to the Floor Supervisor, such as membership hotline, email and mailing customer service, marketing collateral replenishment and other assignments delineated by the Floor Supervisor.

* Execute and encourages the team to deliver customer service and employ sales strategies to meet revenue goals.

* Attends and participates in required team trainings and staff meetings.

* Provides additional leadership touchpoint for Guest and Member Operations Staff.

 

Hours/Schedule

Open schedule with ample availability, must be able to work mornings and/or weekends

 

Physical Requirements for the Position:

Must be able to stand, move, or sit for long periods of time. Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Experience and Skills:

Position qualifications

*Must have 1-2 years of cash handling experience

  • Proficient in CRM or Altru, including database management preferred; proficient with using Microsoft Office Suite software
  • High comfort level and interest in utilizing technology to increase efficiency and seek opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, in a fast paced environment

 

Education: Some college or relevant professional experience; Bachelors Degree preferred.
